Get to know me

My name is Milly Baker, and I live in a small town near Bologna, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna — a region celebrated for some of Italy’s most iconic foods: hand-rolled pasta, Parmigiano Reggiano, traditional balsamic vinegar, and soulful dishes that carry generations of history.

I am an expatriate who moved to Italy in 2018, and since then, this country has gently transformed my life. While living here, I’ve learned the rhythms of Italian tradition — the art of slowing down, cooking with intention, celebrating the seasons, and honoring the simple ingredients that make Italian cuisine so timeless.

Over the years, I’ve fallen deeply in love with the warm, rustic charm of Italy’s kitchens. I’ve spent countless afternoons learning from local home cooks, observing nonnas roll pasta on wooden boards, understanding why certain dishes are made only on Sundays, and discovering the stories behind the flavors.

Italian Cooking and Lifestyle was born from this passion — a place where I share authentic Italian recipes, nostalgic stories, traditional techniques, travel moments, and the beautiful lifestyle I’ve discovered here.
My mission is simple: to bring you the true heart of Italy, one cozy recipe and heartfelt story at a time. For some more content you can go to my Youtube channel, Pinterest account or you can check my books on Amazon.

Welcome to my kitchen — and to my Italian life.
Benvenuti.
